OTOLARYNGOLOGY

Area of medicine called otolaryngology deals with diseases of the ear, throat and nose. It treats not only functional diseases of the ear-throat-nose but also physiological pathologies.
ENT organs play an important role in human life, performing auditory functions, the functions of smell, voice development and take an active part in the functions of breathing and eating. Any violations and pathologies occurring in this area necessitate rehabilitation or even habilitation (acquisition or normalization of the functioning of ENT organs, after operations or prosthetics).
Otolaryngology is actively developing in recent years. New hearing aid techniques are being developed. In close collaboration with otolaryngology, the science of audiology is developing. Phoniatics teach patients after surgical removal of the larynx to develop speech without using the larynx organs. Otoneurologists identify and treat diseases that are usually connected with ENT organs (vestibular, olfactory, human hearing aids). Modern otolaryngology also pays great attention to reconstruction and plastic surgery.
In otolaryngology, the most modern diagnostic methods are used:
-computed tomography, which gives a layered image of organs and tissues
-ultrasound examination based on ultrasonic vibrations that are reflected from different tissues with different wave indices
-magnetic resonance imaging using electromagnetic parameters
-endoscopy is a method that allows the doctor not only to see an organ deviated from normal parameters, but also, if necessary, to take tissue for laboratory tests
