Endocrinology and Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the lack of insulin in the body or the improper action of this hormone. The disease is accompanied by an increased level of glucose in the blood, the so-called hyperglycemia. Currently, among patients with diabetes, the first type of diabetes is diagnosed most often, which affects children and young people, and the second type of diabetes, is more often diagnosed among older people. In the treatment of both types of hyperglycemia, diet, active lifestyle (physical activity) and appropriate treatment in specialized sanatoriums for diabetics are extremely important.

Polish sanatoriums for patients with diabetes carry out special treatment programs, which include medical examination, proper nutrition, physical treatments and the necessary laboratory tests.
